Hearts really do ache. It aches when you have to apart from someone you are emotionally tied to. It aches when that person pushes you away and aches even more when you don't want to go. It aches when you move on and aches when you're being moved on from.

Then my heart aches once more when I look into someone's eyes and realise all they see in me is a ghost. I mean nothing. I am nothing. I barely exist.

I remember the full eyes and how they felt. Full of stinging wet tears and heart wrenching, bitter shame.

"I will always be here for you and you will always mean something to me." How many times have I said this and not meant it? Not more than the amount of times someone has said it to me and lied.
