Having graduated and begun working full-time, here are some things that institutions of higher education do not teach you about the work place: - Life is not fair; it's never about what you know but who you know and who knows you
- Brown-nosing to elevate your work station or position does not mean you are a sell out, it means you're doing what everyone else is doing
- This is how to speak with your colleagues at work- if it is Mon-Tuesday you should ask them how their weekend was. If it is Wed-Friday you should ask them if they have any plans for the weekend.
- Tuesday is the most productive day of the week
- Friday is the least productive day of the week (T.G.I.F.)
- Everyone loves Fridays
- People who get pay rises don't always deserve it and sometimes the most overlooked people deserve a raise but they won't get it
- Cigarettes might kill your life but smokers get more breaks
